– Dr. Johanna Huijssoon


Dr. Huijssoon earned here DMD degree from Washington University School of Dental Medicine, St Louis. She also completed a General Practice Residency at Erie County Medical Center, SUNY, Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Huijssoon was on the faculty of Northern Virginia Community College as an Assistant Professor in the college’s Dental Hygiene program.
Over the course of her 26 year career Dr. Huijssoon has been involved with numerous professional organizations. In addition to being a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, she was President of the District of Columbia Dental Society (DCDS) from 2012-2013.
Dr. Huijssoon is currently a Board member of the DCDS Foundation and on the DCDS Finance and Advisory Committee. In 2008 Dr. Huijssoon was awarded fellowship into the International College of Dentists and in 2014 the American College of Dentists. In both organizations fellowship is granted by invitation only.
As part of her commitment to serving others Dr. Huijssoon has volunteered in two overseas Operation Smile mission trips and donates her time to a local charity.

She has also been named a Washingtonian Magazine Top Dentist, most recently in 2013.
